Exciting exhibition opened by Lady Dalton with an auction of the pieces over the following days.

The Great Harbour Gallery Jersey Up Cycling Challenge In Association With Acorn Reuse.... Two local charities working together

Exhibition of upcycled work and Silent Auction opens the evening of Tuesday 12th October  and continues until 3.00pm Sunday 17th October when bidding will close.

The event will be officially opened by Lady Dalton the Patron to Art in the Frame Foundation and her husband the Lieutenant – Governor of Jersey,  Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton at 7.00pm.

50% of all sales will go to Acorn helping people with long term health conditions and disabilities and 50% to the artists.

We are delighted to welcome Adi Higham of BBC1 The  Bidding Room and his partner Tara Franklin, expert on French Vintage Textiles, to The Harbour Gallery Jersey for this event.

Adi will be judging the work to award 4 prizes donated by the Channel Island Co Operative Society to 4 pieces of  exciting upcycled work.

Upcycling

We have some very exciting work coming in, whether textiles, large and small furniture, home accessories, fashion items, planters and lots more, it is going to be a fabulous exhibition of up cycling, never before seen in Jersey. A real eye opener as to what can be done with an item that might have reached the end of its life with you!

Most of the items have been purchased at the well loved Acorn Reuse centre up in Trinity, some at other charities, when people have been unable to get up to Trinity.

We would like to thank ‘Decore’ of Miladi Parade, Longueville for giving a 10% discount on any paint bought from their lovely shop for this event.

This event is kindly sponsored sponsored by:
  • Abaris Chartered Accountants and
  • Cavendish Fiduciary[Jersey] LTD

If you have a love of textiles you will be delighted to know that Tara Franklin, who has been dealing in Vintage French Textiles for over 30 years will be giving a talk on Wednesday 13th, 8.00pm at the Jubilee Block, Beaulieu Convent School.

Tara will have lots of textiles with her for you to see first hand. Follow this link for more information:

About the Art in the Frame Foundation

History

The charity was set up in 1998 by two local art teachers who saw a need to promote up and coming artists living in Jersey and to promote more art education in schools. With a lack of consistent exhibition space, the charity created The Harbour Gallery Jersey to become an artistic hub and creative community.

Much more information on the website

You can find out more about the charity over at artintheframefoundation.com and find out details of how you can help support us.

Donations

Fundraising will always be needed to keep both the gallery running and to allow us to continue our educational programme. We require help to support our exhibitions, buy new artist equipment for the gallery, sponsor visiting tutors and workshops, purchase educational material etc.

If you have not received your order within the expected time please advise us so that we can attempt to trace the package. We send all items by Jersey post and then by the postal service of the country the items are being sent to. We cannot take responsibility for damage incurred to work sent beyond the UK to other continents.

The cost of shipping will be applied to your cart when you select the delivery destination.

Returns

Everything we send leaves the Gallery in perfect condition and is thoroughly checked. However, if something gets damaged as a result of postage or you are not happy with it in any way then please contact us to make arrangements to return the item and for a replacement to be sent. This may require photographic evidence. If this is not possible, you have the option of choosing an alternative or having a full refund. Unfortunately this may not apply to special orders or personalised items.
